MedStartr announces winners in first full day conference by leading healthcare technology platform
New York, NY – December 4, 2015 — Winning healthcare technology startups were announced today of the MedStartr Momentum 2015 Conference by Alex Fair, CEO of MedStartr. Medical startups selected as winners by an expert panels of judges are: Careset, Care+Wear, Medtimers and Kenkodo.
More than 200 attended the conference held at NYC’s Microsoft Technology Center generating 12 million impressions on Twitter with hashtag #MedMo15. Speakers at the first full-day conference included: Susannah Fox, CTO of HHS as well as representatives of key stakeholders: Regina Holliday of Walking Gallery (Patients), Cheryl Pegus of NYU (Providers), Amy Cueva of MAD*POW (Partners), Wen Dombrowski, MD, Northwell (Institutions), and Peter Frishauf (Investors).
Winning teams will receive: Attorney services by Joe Daniels of Shephard Mullin, a leading corporate legal services firm; Design services by Amy Cueva of Mad*Pow, top healthcare design agency; and entry to the six-week MedStartr CrowdAcceleration Program beginning January 2016 including meetings with key partners and investors that have helped healthcare startups raise over half a billion dollars. According to CEO Alex Fair, “These winning firms are awarded the components vital to a promising healthcare startup with a great idea and a solid team ready to succeed.” MedStartr provides a crowdfunding platform, acceleration services, and has designed and produced branded crowdsourcing and crowdfunding challenges for major private, governmental and not-for profit organizations.
There were four pitch contest through the day featuring early-stage companies. Winners in each category:
Pharma Shark Tank: Careset (www.careset.com) Offering network and referral optimization, a developer of whole market analysis built on open, exclusive, and customer data payment methodology.
Hospital Innovations: Care+Wear (www.carewear.com ) designers of innovative healthwear to create a more positive and effective healing experience for patients.
Reinventing the Clinical Experience: Medtimers (www.medtimers.com ) Helping facilities reduce wait times and publish them in real-time.
Wearable Technologies: Kenkodo (www.kenko.do ) a personalized metabolomics service that connects individual lifestyles to the individual’s biochemical state.
Other speakers, judges and panelists included: Tiffany Peterson (#LupusChat), John Hui (Twiage), Dawn Bell (Novartis), Owen Davis (NYCSeed) and over a dozen more top healthcare innovation leaders.
